This AM, on the Morning Joe show, Gary Johnson was asked what he would do about Aleppo, the center of Syrian atrocities.
Johnson responded, "And what is Aleppo?"
Ouch. I was ready to vote for him, as an alternative to the sleazebags Clinton and Trump, but this is beyond the pale.
He will never live this one down, I fear.

I didn't harbor any ill-will towards Johnson. Kicked around the idea of supporting him. Decided to look into him a bit more. http://100percentfedup.com/gary-johnson-is-a-complete-idiot-and-heres-why-video/No way in heck could I support this guy. Best statement in the whole thing was the comment that Johnson is a social justice warrior posing as a conservative.

Big deal! He didn't know the name of a city in some far away hell hole. Seriously how many people in the USA would have known that city if this wasn't all over the news today? I know I never heard of it before. Also remember that Hillary and Trump are being given updates on things like this from the government so they're more up on it than Johnson.
That said I hate to say it but a vote for Johnson is just a wasted vote. I was thinking of voting 3P as a protest against the fact that the republican party isn't nearly conservative enough but I think a vote for Trump is a protest against the republicans in itself.

What part of "Freedom" don't you understand and/or disagree with? This AM, on the Morning Joe show, Gary Johnson was asked what he would do about Aleppo, the center of Syrian atrocities.

He's not a common person on the street. He's running for president. Yes, he's expected to know some geography along with many other things that us commoners don't need to know. For example, I have no need to know that a "C" on an email means 'classified', but a presidential candidate sure has hell needs to know it.

City in some faraway hell hole is right. But it is also the site of tens of thousands of civilians being killed and gassed since the civil war there started. Much of the exodus from the ME into Europe was started because of the fighting in Syria and Aleppo so it is quite important and should definitely be something any candidate for a national office should be at least aware of.

GFY, then FOAD. True, who you end up voting for should be entirely your own business, yet you started a thread stating your intentions, to which you received a hearty "GFY". Tis the season...

I hope he is dead. The ONLY reason he was getting air time from the MSM was to siphon votes from the GOP candidate. Ross Perot redux.

So if they just asked about Syria without mentioning the city he would have answered and no one would be talking about it.

So if they just asked about Syria without mentioning the city he would have answered and no one would be talking about it. It's more than geography. Aleppo is where civilians were gassed with chemical weapons. Tens of thousands killed in the civil war in which Russia has thrown support behind Syria's government. It would be like saying someone not knowing what a reference to the Twin Towers in September, 2001 meant. It is a lack of base knowledge on foreign affairs. Not geography.
