I quickly noticed that I could not shoot my first Glock as well as my 1911s when I first purchased it. I figured it was the fact that it was a plastic pistol.

Was at an indoor range one day and was having some difficulty at the 15 yd line. The range officer is an x Marine bullseye shooter...and I noticed he was giving me the eye.

I struck up a conversation with him and asked him if he would shoot my pistol.

After one magazine, I realized it was not the pistol!!

He gave me some feedback based on what he had observed. Corrected some issues with my grip. Made some adjustments to my technique, and in about 45 minutes, I was shooting MUCH better.

Why did I choose a 9mm? Because I couldn't get anything bigger in the same package.

Actually, the gun is for my wife and it's a Ruger LC9S. I enjoy shooting it and it's a breeze to conceal. I like it so much that I'll probably end up with one of my own, but if it was available in a larger caliber, I wouldn't buy one in 9mm.

We got one as a training aid for mom, replaced her berry picking gun 4" 629 for a glock 29

The 19 and it are fairly similar, less recoil, cheaper ammo, bit less noise are all conducive to enjoying trigger time

Wish the 19 & 29 were more similar in size

It seems to me the 29 is smaller than the 19&23 and bigger than the compact glocks. Kind of a bastardized size

Plus all these guys on here that actually know pistol craft and tout the merits of the 9mm

It just made sense for her to have one as a training aid

Youngest son really likes it too and now wants one for himself

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

I switched from 45 ACP because we were issued the M9 at work.

My unit put on a 3 gun match right after I got there and having worked with a 1911 more than any other pistol I swiped the safety to the down position (engaged) out of habit on the draw, which cost me time on that stage.

Right then I decided to buy a Beretta and stop shooting the 1911. That was in 2003 and I haven't fired one since.

I have one of their Pro models, and love it also, but no way I'd want one in .40. It shoots well with 9mm, but who needs the extra effort in recoil recovery when there are loads out there in 9mm (e.g., 147 gr HST) that perform amazingly well these days from a short barrel, not to mention lower mag capacity.

To shoot tin cans. Not worth much more than that.

I prefer classic.

Have you tried the Ghost Rocket? It has a little tab that you have to custom trim that stops over travel.

For me? The ammo is cheap enough where I don't have to reload it. I refuse to single stage load for an autoloader ever again. It's just too time consuming. Time which as a person with a job and 2 kids is precious. I load .38's and 44's butits nice to just grab a box of ammo at the store and plink.

I chose 9MM because I couldn't find any 22 LR.
