MM: I don't think we'd kill much in the open prairies with those short barreled carabiners. Well Paul would.....not me! haha

Bob, With the lack of "see-tru's" that one would be ineligible to hunt in WI.

Bob, to be an "official" Pa 760 it must meet one of two stipulations. Either see-thru's or a Redfield widefield scope. If you have both, then when another hunter crosses your path, they are obligated to make at minimum two drives for you. You post at the location of your choice.
Which is why if you Deer hunt in Pa, it is not rare to have other hunters slowly walking away when they think the possibility exists another hunter may be carrying a 760.
As many have written: Our Pa Deer hunting traditions are something we take serious.

I can get higher mounts right? Well, yes. But they'll need to pass "the test": 1) Place gun in vise and secure. 2) Place one hand on the scope objective, the other hand on the ocular. 3) Gently apply force to the scope in a rocking fashion. If you can move the scope to and fro, it is a legit WI setup.

Well ya. They push the ocular down for LR shooting and pull it up for the closer range opportunities. I learned that in Red's old joint.
