I got to shoot one yesterday and really liked it. IMO,the trigger was impressive.
How do these compare to the others in this category like the Ruger and Browning models?

My neighbor, who is not a gun guy, recently bought a Victory after handling it in the store and comparing it to the the Browning and Ruger.
What really sold him was a YouTube showing a Victory eating a variety of .22 ammo without a hiccup.
He has run several hundred rounds through it, and I have shot it too. It is very nice, has a decent trigger and is plenty accurate. I even like the glow rod green sights, and I am generally old school about such things.
Being packaged with two mags also increases the relative value.

All pistols are target pistols if you shoot at a target.

We took my buddy's Victory out for a test run and it did well. We had probably a dozen boxes of various 22LR, and it never hiccuped on it. He and I agreed we prefer Ruger Mark IIs, but liked the Victory much better than Ruger 22/45. The Victory had a good trigger on it but of course doesn't come close to a Model 41 or my tuned Ruger Marks.
Overall the Victory is a good gun and I wouldn't try to dissuade anyone that wanted one. They just don't float my personal boat.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost....

The victory (I think of that as a M&P pre model 10) is a nice 22, for not much money but a "target pistol" NO. Hell I might be a douche bag as well..

I have competed regularly with 22 target pistols in silhouette, conventional and ISSF (International). I sold the Walther FP but all of the others pictured I still have along with a few more. So I have a little background with 22 target pistols. Two weeks ago I saw a High Standard 106 (Hamden) w/weights at a gun show for $425. A solid shooter that will have a better trigger than any stock pistol for 3X the price and way out class a Victory that is sold at a comparable price. You buy something like the High Standard and it will illustrate to you how a quality target pistol feels and shoots. If you don't like it, you would not lose any money selling it. If you like it, you can shoot it for years, trade-sell and make money on it. It is all in what you want.
