Got er done. #3 1-12" chopped @22" holland lug, McMillan hunter. Put together by Steve Kostanitch. Svelt rig ready for my BC moose hunt in '17.
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Complete ass first reply...
Where did you get that burn barrel fire pit?
P.S. As a Whelen loon, you are set with that rifle.

Nice. Built mine on a VZ24 on a budget build. A little heavy but a tack driver. Pigs and deer don't go far.
What are you loading?

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

My old tang Ruger M77 factory 35 Whelen that I bedded into a Bansner stock with low Leupold rings. A light weight thumper that I threw 225 gr TSX's at 2700 fps. The results.

EdM, Perfect proof that a pic is worth a thousand words....
Imagine your grave on a windy winter night. You've been dead for 70 years. It's been 50 since a visitor last paused at your tombstone..... Now explain why you're in a pissy mood today.

Beautiful rifle. I shoot the 225 SGK out of my AI version, and it shoots bugeyes with both Re-12 and -15. (Yes, I bought every can of Re-12 when a local dealer was closing it out.)
Murphy was a grunt.

Since we are posting Whelen pics, here's mine. 1949 Model 70 action, 23" Shilen, 12" twist, McMillan Hunter's Edge, 3.5-10, 7lbs 11 ounces. Haven't carried it much but plan to this season. Assembled in 2012 by "greydog", a member on this site.

I do, however, really like the OP's creative fire pit.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
