My buddy lives near Charleston on Daniel Island SC.
They have issued evacuation orders for everyone within 100 miles of the coast.
Richard went to fill up, no gas to be bought on Daniel Island. He crossed the bridge into Charleston. The first station he came to was sold out.
He did fill up at the second station.

He and his wife hit the road a half hour ago. The interstate has been opened to N. Only traffic for hurricane evacuation.
He is going only 30 miles inland to a motel, I guess. He figures he will be safe there.

i'll bet the ocean will kick up some huge swells. if i was down on the coast, and i'm not, i'd be hunkering down.

storms are a natural, annual event.

I hope doesn't hit Jersey. Apparently they starve to death if the grocery store is closed for 48 hours.

I am on the west coast of Florida.
We should be ok.
We are always prepared for storms.
Best wishes to those who may be in the path, this is a serious storm.

I've planned to drive to Pigeon Forge, TN from Texas this weekend. Any concern from Matthew that maybe I should not go?

Sam, if the water gets deep enough to flood your condo, please let us know.

Stay safe!

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

Wow, I lucked out. I was in Cocoa Beach last week and was wondering if it was wise to plan a vacation there this time of year. Only 90mph winds and 8 inches of rain are predicted this week.

The SC governor announced the evacuation would begin Wednesday at 3pm and I-95 would be routed for one-way traffic north at that time.

I'm 30 miles inland from Charleston and I'm not planning on going anywhere. However, that depends on the storm. I lived through Hazel and I guess I'll make it through this one, God willing.

Anyway, there's no regular gas left at any of the stations in this area and the stores have run out of water. It's only a few hours after the announcement and three days until the storm hits.

When a column of troops under Lt. Col. Francis Smith moved into the countryside to collect arms and munitions gathered by the patriot militia, hostilities erupted at Lexington and Concord on Apr. 19, 1775.

Good to be prepared, but it s likely to turn east quicker than predicted.

That's what I'm hoping for.
I'm only 50 miles inland and the latest track has it knocking on my door Saturday

It should be down to a 2 by landfall , being a Charleston resident and having been through I think its 4 storms in various places this one just pisses me off more than anything. We just got the food plots in when it dried out enough to plant.

Charleston is emptying out quickly and its awesome, like the days of old.
