Very funny & entertaining thread!! Been laffin all the while. But, please, no Leo DeCrapio. Or Wil Smith (remember what he did to that other western series)
Russell Crowe or Jason Statham (The Transporter)
with Michael Ironside or Tommy Lee Jones for the bad guy role.

Well, when you really think about it, "Shane" has already been remade.
Clint Eastwood remade "Shane" and called it "Rider On A Pink Horse," or something like that.
L.W. I was wondering when someone was going to mention that..... In shane they had a stump to remove....In Pale Rider they had rock.....same thing except with that bug-eyed blonde that Eastwood over played in many of his movies......Sandra Locke. High Plains Drifter was pretty far off I thought, but I haven't gotten too much into Eastwood since he went to the dark side of guns.... Dirty Bastid. I'd say Russell Crowe would be perfect with Ed Harris as the farmer. The bad dude role is still up in the air with me......can't come up with a good one for that role.

I'm just paraphrasing things I have read the particulars in the movies themselves saying about the movies over the years. I think Eastwood has said these things. Sondra Locke was Eastwood's girlfriend for many years-they may have married at some point. She wasn't in either movie. Carrie Snodgrass was the "love interest" of the Preacher in Pale Rider and Sydney Penny was the teenaged girl infatuated with him.

Ethan Edwards said: Pale Rider was a loose re-make of High Plains Drifter which had been Eastwood's own take on Shane. I don't know how you could conclude that if you had watched both movies. You might be interested to know what Clint Eastwood says about it himself: Pale Rider

Took the kids to see the new Rocky movie last night and there was a preview of a movie with an actor named Jake Gyllenhaal. He just might fit the bill!!
