Favorite outdoor rifle? Do they make indoor rifles? I'm talking one you would take on a rough hunting trip, not one that is a safe queen that only goes to the range.

The ugly duckling - a Remington 600 in .222 Perfect for packing without a sling, and unequaled when it comes to swinging it out of the truck window.....
My .25-06 shoots 1/4" all day long and I don't even have to do my part...

UGLY!? Best not let your rifle here that. A classic is more like it. Just years ahead of its time as far as I'm concerned. AND in 222. First deer cartridge I owned. Traded a '64 chevy p/u for 2 .22 rifles and a Savage 340 in 222.

Two of my favorites Winchester mod 70 FWT - 243 Win Cooper mod 54 - 22/250 Rem
223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Hand's-down, my Kimber MT 308... pretty is as pretty does.

I don't even have it in my hands yet so I am guessing but I think it will become a favorite of mine. I have always loved the classic good looks of a Mauser actioned sporter. Here is Browning's rendition in a High Power Safari Grade .300 H&H Magnum:
