I have a FW 7-08 in a edge but I have not bedded the action this is the only gun I have not done a bedding job. Do most of bed your Micmillans?

If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

Try it and see how it shoots. Generally bedding will help but if it shoots consistently and accurately shoot the heck out of it.

This. Bedding has helped in almost every rifle I've worked with, the most noticeable was in a .308 guide rifle that I put in an Edge. It shot good in both the original (Ti) stock and the un bedded Edge but turned into a great shooter after bedding.

If you can do it yourself I'd probably say bed it and take away any doubt you might have in regard to the accuracy potential.

IMO McMillan stocks are meant to be bedded.

I tried shooting an unbedded 280AI in a Micky Sako Hunter. The action screws loosened up, barreled action shifted in the stock and the accuracy wasn't very good at all. Bedding it made a world of difference.

My McM stocks have been very loose, more so than other stocks. Yeah, they'll tighten up fine, but if you back off the screws a touch, they have a ton of slop. Bedding is the only way to go IMO.

I always bed the stocks once I decide that I'm going to keep them. A proper bedding job gets you a perfect fit and what is better than perfect?

I bedded the lug on one and watched it go from shooting good to incredible.

My latest one is shooting really good and I'll bed the lug as soon as I get around to it.

If bedded right, I have never seen bedding make a rifle shoot worse.
If it is done wrong, then all bets are off.

I only have one McMillan, and I bedded it, but I must say it was like skim bedding..it was very minimal.

Why NOT bed ANY stock?

To me there are all kinds of disadvantages to NOT bedding a stock, but none to bedding it, assuming as pullit pointed out, you know how to do it right or know someone who does.

Guys that don't bed rifles into stocks are the ones who show up here looking for magic loads to make their rifles shoot.

You have to bed them unless you just get lucky.

I think that bedding the lug can never hurt, but tend to shoot first then decide. I've dorked around with different stocks, but this is my first McM. No bedding.

Same rifle as shown in my post above, sans bedding. 3-shot group at 320y. Plate is 12"x12". Roughly 6" pink.

You won the lottery that's awesome! I like the paint job too!

Of course a lot of people win the lottery every day; doesn't motivate me to buy a ticket.

Bedding is too easy and covers too many bases in getting a rifle shooting to neglect it, no matter how many lucky people I may see in the innerwebs.
