Looking at the Bergara B14, Weatherby Vanguard Weatherguard and the Sauer 101, any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

I don't know about the ones you have mentioned, but my new Ruger Precision Rifle 6.5 Creed, is performing beyond expectations. Factory Hornady ammo is superb!

Although a sometimes controversial choice on here, I really like my 6.5C Xbolt. Handles nice with a lot of features.

I have a Weatherguard S2 that is a great shooter. Shoots both 130 Scirocco IIs and the 127 LRX at 1/2 MOA with handloads.

From what I've seen it would be the Howa Alpine for me.

I'd pick the rifle that fits you, physically, and your budget, financially.

I wanted to like the Bergara, but the pistol grip geometry is too open/shallow for my tastes, so it was a fail.

I've never owned a Sauer 101, so I can't comment on it.

I have 6.5 Creedmoor factory rifles in the Howa 1500, Ruger American Rifle Predator, and Weatherby V2. I also have two parts guns put together on Marlin XS7 actions with Savage 10 barrels.

Of the three rifles that you cited, I only have experience with the V2 and mine has been the most accurate, out of the box, CF rifle with factory ammo that I've yet to own. It shoots MOA or better with almost every brand and bullet weight of factory ammo that I've tried in it. Even the least expensive factory ammo, Hornady's American Whitetail hunting load, shoots sub-MOA. I regularly get 3-shot groups that can be covered with a dime out of the V2 and the RAR-P with factory ammo.

EDIT: I put a McM McM Hunter stock on my V2 and that change made it balance 100% better. The V2 stock isn't bad and it is significantly better, at least IMO, than the Hogue stock that comes on the Howa 1500.

I had a Sauer 101 for a while. Top quality rifle for sure. It would be my choice.

Are you sure it's not a Sauer 100 ?

Nothing wrong with the 100 either that I can see, but it is just a lower cost version of the 101.

Correct on the Sauer 100 not 101, big difference in price. Moot point now until I replenish the gun money. Bought a Steyr MIII 7x64 to play with

I'm in the market myself and looking hard at the Ruger American Predator and the Weatherby Weatherguard S2. I like the stock on the weatherby a lot more but the Ruger is a good $100 cheaper.

Just bought an X-Bolt Composite Stalker in 6.5 Creed. Got 3 different Hornady factory loads (120gr, 129 gr and 143 gr) hit the range. Fired first to adjust scope and then the next 10 each from both the 129gr American Whitetail and 143gr ELD were all under MOA at 100. I am one happy happy old man. Ready to find me a deer!

I'm in the market for another 6.5 Creed. Something lighter and handier than the rig I have now - 700, 24", SS #4.

I have all the 'fixins' to build another, but the Kimber Hunter, Bergara B-14, and Howa Alpine are candidates should I decide to buy something off-the-shelf.

Kimber - not sold on the molded in trigger guard. Likewise, Kimber has had some accuracy issues in the past that I'm not sure have been resolved.

Bergara - everything a Rem 700 should have been, albeit a little heavy.

Howa Alpine - yet to see one on the shelf. Those I've seen advertised all that the DBM, which is a deal killer.

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

I've got the Howa, Ruger, and Weatherby in 6.5 Creed. The Howa is the least expensive via Whittaker's at $330 plus shipping, followed by the Ruger at around $375 retail, and the Weatherby at between $500 and $550. I didn't care for the stocks on any of them, but liked the Hogue on the Howa the least. The only differences between the $330 Howa nad the $500(ish) V2 are the stocks and the barrel lengths, the Howa at 22" and the V2 at 24". While I don't love the stock on the RAR-Predator, I don't actively dislike it in the same way that I strongly dislike the Hogue on the Howa.

Knowing what I know now, if I was going to buy one of the three, I'd probably buy the Howa from Whittaker's and a Boyds laminated stock in the Heritage style to put the barreled action into. Or, I'd buy the RAR-Predator and buy a Boyds laminated stock in the Heritage style to put the barreled action into. The RAR-Predator in a laminated Heritage style stock goes 9 lbs. with a scope and rings, so not a light-weight, but the balance and handling improvements off-set the added weight on a rifle that doesn't require a lot of vertical movement where I shoot deer.
