Well I happened to be working in mtn on my way home I did some glassing in secrete spot where deer migrate through. Spotted him pushing does and freaked out. Raced home got the kids from babysitter. Grabbed gear . Of course had to stop and get the kids dinner everything slows you down when your in a hurry.
Got back finally almost 2hrs later only a few dones still there. So we took off hiking bryce and I. I was about to give and asked brace should we look over the next ridge. Thank God he said yes as we crested the Ridge there he was with a bunch of does 400yds maybe 300. No time to think. Dropped over Rock on a kinda prone position and letting a 115vld flies. It's home deer hunches then runs out of site then comes back into site slowing looking sick. I tell bryce we got him. I'll shoot again. I end up shooting 2 more times. My last shot hits home and he flops down mtn.
Bryce says you got him. We rush over to get him gutted before dark knowing we have a he'll of a climb to get out. I've decided to take bryce home and come back after dark to take deer across the river.
It was midnight my friend and I got him across the river. About 2am to get him skinned out.
Now it's treager time.
