Anyone have any input on using the Nos 95gr bt in a 6mm Rem s/a box ? The 105 A MAX I tried sets to far in the case. I'm thinking the 95's are shorter and would be a better fit in the s/a box. Am I just better off using a FB bullet here, or are the 100 gr FB bullets handicapped too?

I load the 95gr BT in a M7 6mm for my wife which has a shorter box than the SA by a bit. They intrude a little but without pushing I get 2950+ out of an 18 1/2" barrel so I would say go for it.

What precisely do you mean? Are you concerned about powder space intrusion, or is the ogive portion of the bullet getting below the case mouth?

Intrusion is most of my concern. If memory serves the AMAX rd measured 0.080 to long for the mag box when touching the lands. Theirs also almost as much bullet in the case as what protrudes. It appears to be getting full bearing on the length of the neck, but looks more like a 75 gr v max when seated.

If the ogive is not in the case mouth I wouldn't worry much about powder space intrusion.

Just seat them so that they still fit in the magazine. I always loaded Hornady Interlock 100-grainers to just over book coal, when I still had my 6mm. The 95 BT should be a fine bullet, I would think.

95 NBT is what I run in my Ruger and its a SA. COAL I am loading at is 2.87" and they run thru the mag just fine.

Ya, the 95 gr Ballistic Tip is an excellent hunting bullet, and easily works, fitting nicely in the magazine of a short action Remington.

It can also be remarkably accurate & lethal.

My 6mm really likes 95 grain Nosler SST's for accuracy and velocity. I suspect that the ballistic tip is not any longer than the SST's.
I don't worry too much about bullets protruding into the case.

The 90 NAB is another good option. I had pretty good results with RS Hunter and R17 pushing the 90s.

Oops, that wasn't the first mistake I've made.
