How much more temperature sensitive is IMR-4350 than is H4350?

I've found recent batches of H4831SC a little slow for the 30-06 and 180g bullets, and even with max loads cannot get much more than about 2550fps from my 23.5" bbl.
57g of your H4350 and your 180g bullets is where I'd load if you don't have time to test. Should shoot nicely, somewhere in that 2700-2800fps range. Look at the pressure ( or lack of it) that are generated by the max loads of 4831/SC, with a 180 grain bullet... went thru this and getting flamed quite a while ago, until I was backed up by one of the ballisticians at Nosler... as he state, you can't get enough 4831/SC in an 06 case to exceed SAAMI pressure limits... Work it up slowly in your rifle if you decide to try it....but it was digested with zero issues in all 5 of my 06s... 180 grain bullet, Any Large Rifle Primer ( non Magnum), and 65 grains of 4831/SC...you'll need to put a light crimp on the bullet to keep the powder from expanding and pushing the bullet out of the case... This is a compressed load... I'll let your chronograph tell you the MV....

Have to agree on recent experience SF.
Not sure I'd get 65g in though...

I looked at my old notes. Old H4895 and Nosler Partition (old style) .15" 5 shot group from my old Springfield 03. The date on this would have been in the early 70's. However, the Partitions were only 150 grain.

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Forever, 57.5 H4350/180 NP This ^^^^^ If an 06 won't shoot a 180 into good groups with 57 to 58 grains of H4350 something is wrong. I've used 57-58 grains in 8-10 30-06s with good results - sometimes spectacular results. Seems Hunter works for many people but that hasn't been my experience. In fact it shoots worse than most powders in several 06s and 300 WSMs. I recently tried Re16. It looks like it may be a good substitute for the 4350s.

I have never gone above book max though.

H-4350 55.0gr. ANY 180, it's mild and shoots great. WLR primers/WW cases.
Never chrono-ed it, but it knocks deer down and stiffens them up real quick.
I actually liked the old 180 Bronzepoint when you could get 'em.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

Standard 57.0gr H-4350, 180 Hornady Interlock or Partition for that matter, Win cases and CCI LRP. Excellent out of my Ruger No.1 Std. MV is crowding 2800 fps over the screens.
