Just curious are the elk coming down of black mountain yet. Anyone seeing elk off of Hwy 13 north of Craig. When they are there the hunt is good!

Up until now,the weather has been extremely warm. I doubt if they are moving yet.I think they had one snow up there a few weeks ago.
I am sure if you call Jeanne Horne of J Bar H outfitters she would tell you or Evan Jones the CPW officer in that unit

A friend saw a thousand plus elk pour onto coal company property North of Meeker and a mile west of Rt.13 during second season.

We saw probably 7-800 on the private land leading up into CA Park during second season. It was weird this year because they were spread out, not in one massive herd. I've seen as many as 1500 (guesstimate) on one ridge up there. They look like ants crawling around. It was a weird year in general.

I have not hunted the California Park area for a number of years, but that is pretty standard after the first season. Those elk BAIL off the public on to the Smith ranch to the south in droves. Second season there is pretty bleak, unless you are willing to dig the remnants out of the bad spots-which we did the first year we hunted it. We never went back second season again.
You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it. A "creek" has water in it, a "crick" is what you get in your neck. Liberals with guns are nothing but hypocrites.
