Just bought a Winchester Featherweight Super Grade 7x57 here on the 'Fire. May take it as a PG rifle on my next safari.

Looking for the "right" scope. Considering one of the above or, perhaps a Meopta 1".

I'd like a scope in proportion to the rifle. ~40mm bell, 2-10, 2.5-10, 2-12. Up until November 19th, Zeiss is offering a $150 rebate. LGS has a VX6 2-12 they are willing to part with for $899. I have had good service from Z3's in the past. Meopta makes a solid product.

Your thoughts?

My vote would go toward Zeiss Conquest HD5, maybe because I have one and like it a lot. One that you didn't mention is Trijicon, they are a small light weight scope, good optics and have a lighted dot in the Duplex cross hairs. I hear they are also popular for Africa rifles.

Personally, I'd go with a Leupold VX3 2.5-8 for a 7x57.

Of the scopes you've listed, well, there isn't really a bad one in the bunch. 10x is overkill in Africa, IMO. Personally, I used a 6x42 out to 300 yards with no issues.

Swaro Z3 3-9x36, or 3-10x42. JMHO

Im also for the Z3 in 3-9 or 3-10 with a 4A, hard to beat. Doug at Cameraland gave me a great deal on mine last year...

On my model 70 7x57 I have a swaro Z3 3-9x36 w/4A and it's a great match-up....

On my 7x57 Featherweight is a Weaver 4x.
