My preferred CCW is a S&W Shield 9mm. There are some occasions where I can't carry it and I have to go with something smaller. I currently have a S&W Bodyguard that I pocket carry. I love the concealability, but I can't shoot that gun worth a crap. The trigger is horrible.
My question is: is there a gun that's similar in size to the Bodyguard but in a 9mm that anyone would recommend? I love my Shield but it's too large for pocket carry.

Kimber Micro 9 is another to consider.

The Sig Sauer 938 seems to be very popular for CCW

My Glock 43 fits just fine in my cargo shorts pocket. In a pocket holster, of course.

Love to have one of them.

The ergonomics on the Kimber are better.

There's the Kel-Tec PF9 too. Inexpensive, slim, light, good sights, and reliable. Most people don't care for the trigger pull, but I happen to like it.

Took it right out of the box and put 200 rounds through it back to back to back.

Having confirmed it worked, I sent it off to be hardchromed. Came back looking like this.

In my opinion, you still need a good-sized pocket to even think about pocket carry though.

Kahr CM9 fits the bill. It's also accurate for its size.

Nice pistol. Single action only. Recoil feels about like a full size 1911 in 45ACP. Decent sights. It's just light enough for pocket carry, for me. Fits well in a belt holster. Haven't tried out a shoulder holster or an in-the-waist holster. Can't speak about those.

I have been routinely carrying my 9mm Shield in my pocket, using a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. Works fine for me so far.

Nothing beats the Kahr 9mm for pocket carry

I've been playing with a couple of Ruger LCR's and love them. They did a great job with the trigger and they work well for pocket carry. I believe they make one in 9mm (but I have not tried that version). Might be worth a look and would complement your 9mm Shield well.

Curious why you say that?

Other than the trigger pull, I like shooting mine. With the extended mag it actually fits my hand pretty well.

I would find it really hard to move away from the Kahrs. When something just flat works, I tend to not overthink it and go looking for solutions to problems that don't exist.
