Whittaker's still has Howas in 7-08 and 6.5 Creed for $329 plus $15 shipping.

Check out Buds Guns. I,m exactly where you are but I,m only interested in 7mm-08. There are still a few of the Marlins X7 floating around in the box. They are super cheap an the one I had with hand-loads MOA no problem. Good luck with your search........Redworm.................

At Whittakers price they are an option if nothing else comes along I don't like the Hogue stocks either, so I bought a V2 take-off stock and put the barreled action in it. It is noticeably heavier than my Marlin XS7, but the X guns have blind magazines. Those are still available from CDNN for $280.

Got a Remington 700 SA in 6.5 Creedmoor, action trued, all the bells and whistles done, 26" varmint taper Shilen stainless select match 1-8 twist. Jewell HVR trigger, HS Precision PSS 135 stock, green with black web, bedded with dovcon steel It's a tack driver with Barnes 120gr TTSX and Nosler 130gr accubonds. Only 47 rounds fired, shot anything I tried. Gun only you pay shipping
