Take the lighter group of four and then split them, two on each side. Repeat with one per side.

If unequal... take the light three and do a 1:1 if equal then the one not placed is light.

P. Actually he is correct... if the first test is uneven you only need to test two of the three to find the light one. if even you only need to test the remaining two... I screwed up.
