Cant update my Garmin Nuvi 2598 or save my way points? Garmin express cant find my device bought 4 different data USB cords and tried removing and reinstalling Garmin Express, with no luck. Bunch of google search,s showed similar issues. Windows 10 and Chrome. Any ideas? Tried on 2 different computers.

Did you try shutting the computer down, plugging in the device and then rebooting?
One shot, one kill........ It saves a lot of ammo!

Rebooted numerous times, 5 different cords, 3 different USB ports, tried all the Google suggestions? Will recharge but not transfer data or update. Error cant find device?

Is it registered? I had the same problem with my Garmin navigator until I went to the actual Garmin website where my device is registered.

You try and reboot the Garmin?
Hold the power button down... it'll go off. Keep holding the button down until it restarts.

Called Garmin Tech support they are sending me a new Data transfer Data cord. Sounds like that,s the issue.

Loose connector on main board, apparently solder connections are baked and quite fragile. $89 for a re furbished unit or $119 for a new one. Found a place to re solder connections.
For $40 including shipping. Thats what I am going to do.
1 1/2 year old its a weak point reading the blogs.
