Savage 99 in 250-3000, dropped him in his tracks! Bought this 99 last summer and very pleased with it, exl. Accuracy but ammo sure is hard to find?

Very cool. Congrats. Can't wait to see future kills with your 99.

Congrats! Looks like you have a later .250-3000 that would have faster twist than the older ones. If you cant' find ammo, try here: http://ammoseek.com/ammo/250-savageBEAT NAVY!!!!

Good deal!
I thought I was the only guy in Tennessee with 99 Savages.
Where are ya located? I'm in Lafayette.

ammoseek.com is your friend. Just picked up a case of Federal 180gr for a very good price.

Bitesized buck--the tastiest of all! Good shootin'!
Jorge1, do you really shoot 180s in a .250-3000? They must be as long as an arrow!

If ammo is hard to find, try handloading. I have been able to buy new Hornady cases in 250 Savage lately, and they are just fine. If you can't find 250 Savage cases, 22-250 cases can be necked up and also work fine. Your 1 in 10" twist rate will allow you to shoot any 100 grain bullet you choose, too.

Where are ya located? I'm in Lafayette. Not far away. Glad to have you here, and congratulations on the buck, and the nice 99 A in the picture!
