Gunbroker...I use that website to get a general feel for what a gun is going for from time to time.

there are Lugers, and then there are Lugers. The value can vary from very low, to very high, based on a lot of variables. You need to find an appraiser that knows what he is doing.

Gunboards.com has a collector's forum for a large number of military stuff. You might venture over there and give 'em a peek, maybe they can help.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

You need to find an appraiser that knows what he is doing. this I was trying to find the value of a widow's gun for a neighbor and was lucky enough to find a collector in Birmingham Alabama who agreed to look at it for me. He said it was either in very good condition or had been refinished. When he took it apart, there was a piece that the Germans had left unblued ("in the straw" was the term he used). When that part was unblued, the trigger should also have been unblued, but it was blued in my example. This meant the gun was refinished, which cut the value by 50%. Said it would probably be a great shooter, but of little value to a collector.

I know enough that there is a large variation and it has to do with serials, dates, etc.
