Looking at GMU 19 area for 1st rifle 2017. The Stormy area. Been hunting unit 12 the last few times out and thought we would try something different. Any insight to the area in general?
Thanks

There are elk there but pretty spread out. Good access of Rt. 14 and Pingree park area and up near Cameron pass. Comanche Peak outfitters has 6 or so drop camps in the unit.

The elk herd is still recovering numbers after the DOW started reducing the herd 15 yrs ago. Look at the low stat numbers and decide if it's better than Unit 12.

I'd stay in Unit 12 before I'd jump to Unit 19.
