High Brass, I was actually born in Williamson, Wva. My brother, that shot the buck, lived over by High Point for 20 years, he recently moved about 10 miles east of the Charlotte Speedway.

Our area has some huge bucks, if you know where to look.
Hint, it ain't where the young bucks hang out.

The county produced around 20 160", or larger bucks this year. One was a 34 point, non-typical, that only scores about 165".

We control >2,500 acres and have been practicing redneck management for about 10 years. Only true a trophy or obvious full grown bucks with crap racks are being taken.

That's an awesome buck but I'm even more impressed that it came from Eastern KY. Congrats.

Terry,

Dad's Dad was born and raised in Jenkins, KY which is a bit south of you. It doesn't surprise me about this buck coming from that area. Big bucks come from southern WV as well so I'm sure there's some good ones in the eastern part of the Bluegrass State.

The Boone & Crocket scorer is scheduled to meet him for scoring around the 1st of Feb.

That is one beautiful buck. But you may have a slight problem. I could be wrong but I don't believe you can have a mounted head officially scored for Boone & Crockett. They have to verify that the skullplate is intact and hasn't been altered. Also there is a 60 day drying period so it actually has to be measured twice. The horns will probably have to be removed from the mount to be legally scored.
yep your wrong, they can be scored eighter, never seen any buck get scored the way you say....rack is all that is needed..

The skull plate has to be intact, and unaltered. He can give you a score, but it will be unofficial. Unless they have changed something in the last couple of years.
