Co-worker had one for about half of this season in .300 WBY. It was very accurate once he did load development but way heavier and longer than he wanted to fool with for E. Tennessee woods. It was about 10 lbs loaded out.
I have one in .257 Wby and love it. Mine is about 7 lbs. 12 oz. bare, but it was a .50 MOA rifle out of the box. Got mine from Cabelas when it was an exclusive at a really good price. As well built as a rifle that costs twice as much.
Thanks guys - I'm on the fence between the Weatherby and the Remington AWR... it likely wouldn't matter which I end up with, so I'll probably pick up the first one that I can find on sale.
I've been price comparing accuguards the past week and have only seen the 257 weatherby and both 300 mags on sale. Unfortunately I decided to pull the trigger on a 257 and they were no longer on sale. If I do see a 30 06 on sale I will let you know. I realize it is a differentry rifle but cdnn sports has a good deal on a Back Country in your caliber of choice.
