I gave up trying a few years ago. Now I just try and avoid them in any meaningful way, while looking for opportunities to help them in any small way I can. My wife is the same way about it. We commiserate now and again about our almost daily work interactions with them.
The cultural divide, not just in this country, but throughout the world, has been laid bare. It is a tension that is so stark that I don't think it lends itself to any form of dialectic resolution. There certainly will be no debate based or rhetorical resolution. It is now only going to be resolved through increasing conflict in what I believe, is primarily a spiritual battle.
Since I believe in Biblical prophesy, I know how it is all going to turn out, which means in the foreseeable future this struggle is going to intensify, and we all best be prepared for that.

I stop them in their tracks when i ask them why japan and china dont import muzzies and mexicans if its such a good idea.
Then, i kickem in the nuts on global warming by showing them the graphs of Vostok Ice Core temp and co2 cycles fro the last 450,000 yrs and ask them if the dinosaurs drove too many cars. Of course, they dont have a clue as to when the big lizards roamed the earth.
