My 5 changes would be:

1. Add the 6.5 Creedmoor to the 7 and 700 line in all styles.
2. Offer a 1-8" ROT barrel option for all of the .224" and .243" bore cartridges.
3. Reintroduce the 541 and 580/581/582 series of rimfire rifles in .22LR, .22Mag, and 17HMR.
4. Reintroduce the 700 Ti in both long and short actions.
5. Reintroduce the 700 LVSF.

Looks great but I would add the XCR back to the model seven line.

1. Fire the CEO
2. Restore honor to the Marlin name
3. Reinstate the Classic
4. Tighten the twist on Sevens and elsewhere
5. Do something about the rust attracting matte blue finish

-Stainless left hand guns in a variety of cartridges.
-Put a 1 in 12 twist on the 35 Whelen.
-Left hand version of the Model 7 or at least more short action 700's.
-Put a faster twist on the 270 Win
-Put a faster twist on the 222 Rem (and offer lightweight a lefty version of it)

This in spades. Especially number 5. Also, much prefer 22" to 24" barrels in non magnum calibers.

Lengthen the LOP,
Improve the triggers
Don't harness a good cartridge by a rifle with a poor twist rate or barrel length.
Other than that, I got nothing.

I would buy either Timmney or jewel and make those triggers std on the 700

I would reintroduce the Hepburn single shot in a limited run chambering each year like the classic 700s

I would reintroduce the 22 bolt rifles from the 60s along with the nylon66

I would reintroduce the Parker on a limited run basis

Probably bring back the bdl mountain rifle from the 90s

I'd make them sell Marlin to somebody who cares about the brand.

I would love to be in charge of quality control and manufacturing processes.

All the great ideas in the world will get you no where if the product you produce sucks.

Quality comes easiest from the proper process, do things right and in the right order and quality is the results.

Look at what Savage has done for accuracy at a very reasonable price, Remington could take that to another level with the right people.

First. Get rid of those [bleep] little scan code square hickies on the side of the actions.

Clean house starting at the top. Anyone responsible for decision making the last 15 years is gone. Especially the idiot that blended the nose of the comb into the top of the grip on the wood stocks. What a ridiculous 2X4 looking piece of chit.

Bring back the Ti. As originally configured.

Bring back the classic. As originally configured.

Lapped, cut rifled barrels on centerfire rifles.

Hire real machinists to chamber/crown your barrels and true up the receivers before assembly. All the money you saved trying to make a cheaper product has come back to bite them square in the azz because their flagship rifle shoots like a POS.

1. At least two other people have mentioned this, but the "Rem Orange" rust attractant finish has got to go. Complete turn off to see rust on half of their stuff that is still NIB.

2. Reintroduce the XCR line. The new AWR may be their attempt at this but operating experience is limited. Also like someone else said, can we get some 22" barrels?

3. Revamp the Model 7 series with more modern options of calibers, twist rates, available stocks, etc. Lightweight and pack guns are popular now and this would not be that difficult to do since it is most minor modifications to a finished design.

4. Instead of pursuing non core business like striker fired polymer pistols and the R51 debacle, focus R&D on reliable and accurate sporting rifles. The market for defensive weapons is crowded with competitors that are way ahead of them, it makes no sense to try and compete there.

5. Re-import the 798 with the laminate stock and special bluing in a multitude of cartridge offerings (selfish request fueled only by my own eccentricity).

Short barrels, fast twists, threaded barrels on everything, decent stocks....Pretty much just tweaking what they are doing.

I could care less about the dot matrix bar codes, walnut and blue steel, etc..

I'd clean house and hire Darrik to run it.

This goes back to their manufacturing process, when the first thing every gun smith does is true up the action, why the hell isn't the action "trued up" at the factory?

Union labor drove cost up and slowed production, new CNC machines and proper tooling would increase quality and lower costs.
Neither are goals that unions prefer, hence the off shore hack work that we have not been buying for far to long.
