Calling all experienced mountain hunters: what is the best scope cover you have found?

My cousin and I went elk hunting in 2015 and we both had purchased Butler Creek scope covers. By the end of the hunt we had only 1 cover left between the two of us. I suspect the scopes contracted from the single digit temps and the covers were prone to falling off. Has anyone discovered a better mouse trap?

Thanks,
Doc Paul

Aadmount's new design uses a clamp screw on the side. They're hideously expensive, but they are very tough.

Don't think the website sows the new design:

Electrical tape works really well also, as Don said.....

Leupold Aluminas. Yes, they only fit Leupold's, and yes, they carry the same warranty also as their scopes. If it breaks, you get a new one in the mail.

And, no I'm not paying Aadmount $100 for Butler Creek lookalikes.

The Aadmounts are worlds better quality than the Butler Creek's - no comparison in strength or durability. They are expensive.

Actually you are paying $15.00 for Aadmount look-a-likes. If you hunt the Aadmounts will pay for themselves in anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Last pair of Butler Creek scope covers I had I snapped the lids off by brushing an open lid against some brush. I gladly paid Jon for his scope covers; they are nothing like Butler Creek other than the open and closing of the covers.

No mountain hunter,

But after several sets of crappy butler creeks, switched to neoprene scope covers.

I have a couple of sets of the new Vortex Defenders. They are quite badazz. Having said that, I bought them mainly for the "dope disk" part of the equation.

It's just really, really though to beat neoprene covers for a mountain hunting application.

Butler Creek "bikini's". You can secure them to the scope on one side with tape or a zip tie. They'll even stretch to fit a 50 or 56 mm objective and they're pretty cheap (inexpensive).

I like the bikini covers. They seal up and are easy to remove. Just my personal opinion.

Uncle Mikes QD Scope Covers, formerly known as Storm Queen Scope Covers.

Best damn scope covers ever made......Alas, past tense, they don't make them anymore......

But I found a nice supply of them and bought 'em.

That definintely works better than those push button yuppie flippie uppie scope covers!

I have spent a lot of time in the evening trying to make clients Butler Creek covers work. There's something about gun cases and baggage handlers that are death on these push button covers............
