Still putting some hogs down with my Benjamin Bulldog! Got this one last night at 80-85 yards with the Bulldog and 145gr Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. He has some pretty good cutters. Hit behind the ear.

Very nice! Wish I had some hogs around here. I just finished my .257 air rifle.

My little plinkers can't compare with a Big Boy rifle but then the local varmints here are a much smaller scale too..
Thanks for posting and Congratulations!

Barry, do it load any 357 caliber bullets or do they need to be specific shapes? I would assume the former... interesting device for appeasing beasts quietly

I would assume the former... interesting device for appeasing beasts quietly Sponxx, I use one of two bullets for that .357. First is the Nosler 145 Ballistic Tip. Nosler and Benjamin teamed up to design the bullet a few years back when the Benjamin Rogue was introduced. It's very accurate and hard hitting. Or I use the 81gr domed pellet by JSB. http://www.pyramydair.com/product-a...act_35_Cal_81_02_Grains_Domed_100ct/1087Cheaper to shoot. Faster. But louder... (The lighter the bullet, the louder an airgun can be.) It pretty much needs to be an airgun specific projectile. Rifling is shallower on an airgun, so jacketed bullets don't perform well, and do your rifle no favors either. Soft lead is pretty much needed to form a tight seal upon firing.

Interesting about Nosler developing "air rifle" bullets. They dwarf my .177 Cal, 7.87 Grain JSBs for the HW30s

Very Nice Barry... Looks like a fun time with the air rifle. That thing looks like he'd make some pretty tasty sausage.

Ultra cool! Hogs with an airgun! My airgun "arsenal" is limited to a .22 cal. Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston II for stuff like squirrels, but I'd love to play around with something like that bulldog which really does "speak with authority". As in; heavier bullets & more velocity; ever chronograph those Ballistic Tips? To take down a hog at that range I bet they're moving pretty good.

It shoots about like a .38spl+P. I have some lighter, 80gr pellets that are around 1000fps or just under.

Damn! vWife just came in and told me I needed to come shoot a 'possum in the yard. Took my Benjamin .177 out, killed two in the banana trees. First with one shot, the other took several to the head to be dead. I regularly kill possums and coons with my airgun - keeps the neighbors from complaining like they do when I use my .22.

Mike You may want to make sure those possums are grave yard dead, not just "possum dead"...😀 DF
