Whitebird: Thanks. It is the best 7 mag I've ever owned.
Gene did a great job.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Probably about as close as I will get to a working pair of legends... Both Pre-64's. Top is an 338 Alaskan done by Gene Simillion... and bottom is a custom done by Mark Penrod in 7Mag. Asked Mark to do every functional improvement he would do to a pre-64 for his own rifle. Trigger, safety, truing, races etc. etc. Both Legend stocks. Gene did the load development and stock work etc. on the top one.

Here is my pre-64 moose rifle, a 9.3x62 in a carbon fiber Legend stock and virtually every piece of metal done with a different finish by D'arcy in order to see which works the best

Not Phil, but it looks like a mount for a light.

Closest I will come to a Legend in foreseeable future. LH M70 in a Legend stock. Lilja #4 chambered .300H&H, with Pre-64 sight set on barrel. If I had it to do over, I would drop back at least to a Lilja #3. Possibly a #2 like handwerk's rifle above.

All top notch rifles here, from what I've seen... I wish GSSP would show his 9.3x62mm...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

While I also am not Phil, it is a Picatinny rail. Mount a light where you punch the end of the light to turn it on, and you have the slickest and quickest rig imaginable. Install the rail carefully and you can merely shoot to the center of the light spot at "fight stopping" ranges. When I took my .416 Rem setup to Zim, the leopard guides thought it was a grand idea.

Beautiful rifles fellas. I'm still waiting on my Legend stocked MSM. I also have a 338 Alaskan getting a Legend.
Keep them coming.
