The 4 for 2 project is progressing well in ND. About all that's left is to build about 30 miles of road bed between Stanley and Minot, and the 13 or 14 miles west of Williston to the MT line. It is supposed to be completed in 2008. Then 2 will be 4 lane all the way across the state.

How many cars passed by you during that photo shoot? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

A surprising number, and they sure put out some suction as they passed--it wasn't exactly bumper to bumper traffic.

BTW this was Oct. '03--a season that was either "unseasonably warm" or "a taste of things to come," depending where you stand on the global warming debate.

BTW I'm surprised no one's mentioned St. Marie--a great little town, especially if you're an "X-Files" fan.

Along with being born here, I have lived in several other parts of Montana (and the West and Midwest in general). Lived in Poplar for several years in the early 1970's (my first wife was from there) and if it wasn't for the weather still might. Saw the thermometer (not wind chill) as low as -58 and as high as 113. Still visit the area more than occasionally, but generally only in spring or fall....
