Many, but certainly not all millennials are "freelancers." They have a much shorter attention span (likely from development influenced by participation trophies, video games and social media), and don't have the same sense of commitment that many other generations seem to have. They like to keep their options open. It is not just in the realm of work. They like to hold out, or look for something "better" that might come along, and then flee at the slightest inkling of dissatisfaction.

Curious, exactly what sort of behavior did you expect from the offspring of a fiend?

Pretty depressed area where I live and I just can't understand walking away from a 50 buck an hour gig. That's just me I guess.

Carry on, guys. smile

Lots of guys that have pulled down good money whilst working away from home while the wife raised their boys, which is shameful to me.

I've yet to feel any shame for starting a family while on a 14/14 rotation.

At the end of they year, I spend far and away more time with my kids than someone working 8-5 and seeing their kids for a couple hours in the morning and the evenings, even those coaching little league on the weekends in addition.

I was thinking Jeffery Dahmer or Charles Manson must have a son when I read the title...

If the kid is paying for the shelter over his head, food on the table and the daughter isn't deprived of anything, who cares what he does for work? Who cares if he bounces around from job to job?

Maybe he prefers to spend time with his daughter, which is actually a very good thing....

Buddy of mine has a masters degree in geology.

He did the work and travel after the education process but now drives a beer truck route and loves it.

I never understood the Jones.....great big house on the hill with a driveway full of new cars, trucks and boats. A couple 3500 sq ft "cabins" for the weekends....ad in a wife that loves manicures and plastic money.

Phuqe that chit

that's the beauty of this country and this life we're given

we're FREE to make the choices that best suit us as individuals.

same path won't work for everyone, likely to be crowded if it did.

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Another valid point but considering his time and effort spent job hunting only to quit shortly after doesn't add up.

Turned down a federal prison offer because it was a 45 minute drive each way.

See it all the time. They will sit at home and don't want to work unless they're being paid what they feel they're "worth".

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

That's it. Nothing brings more job satisfaction than an empty stomach...... smirk

Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21.
Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
