The dry firing post got my curiosity up so I pulled the buttstocks off an A370xxx (1969) serial numbered 99E and a 1966 LBC T 99C. The 99E has the pre-mil type trigger, sear, etc.
The curious thing about the 99C is that the buttstock has been lightened like a 99F. Both lightening holes are above the hole for the stock through bolt unlike the pre-mil 99F's which have one hole above and one below the through bolt hole. I don't have a post mil 99F to compare it to. Is this normal for the early 99C's which had a lightweight barrel? The assembly codes on the 99C's stock match the code on the receiver.

Just picked up a 99C (?) stock set from Fireball and it was the lighten butt stock. I'll have to check the original butt stuck to see if it was lighten as well.
My Dad hacked a couple of inches of the original stock because he was shorter. The 99C I have has the gold trigger, newer 99 I think.

Gold triggers came out in 1960 on the F and DL. The more I know about E's the better I like them. No gold trigger and the pre-mil type trigger, sear and safety. David

Interesting. The barrel is stamped 99C.
