I have two early 1950 FN commercial Mausers. They both have safeties that are thin and come up to and almost touch the bolt. The problem is that one is on the left and one is on the right. I would prefer both to be on the right. Where can I find them, and what do I ask for? Thanks captdavid

Ed La Pour makes an excellent 3 position safety, I have one on my Springfield 1922 M2. He makes them for Mausers as well.

I think the OP is talking about a trigger mounted safety? If so, just replace the leftie with a new Bold or Timney trigger.

The left is probably an original fn. the right either a Dayton or bueller. Brownells sells both. Don

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.

Jim, do you do the voodoo you do for '03 Springfields too? (With apologies to Cole Porter )

I need to find a gunsmith that can install a 3 position Dakota safety on a M 98 bolt, I have the part, I just need someone that can do the machining. I want to have the bolt Jeweled as well. I don't mind shipping the bolt to a reputable shop.

I dop think the Dakota safety is made by Gentry; therefore they are a POS and I won't do them. Get a LaPour safety and get the berst, I will fit those. Jim

Ed told me he wasn’t building safeties at this time. I just had a Recknagel installed and it’s as good as it gets.
