Sent me this Terra to replace. They said it was a Quality scope

Does it have the lototec coating or is that a different brand?

I sent in a conquest, could not repair, and they sent me the next higher end conquest HD 5 or some such...

That was direct with Zeiss.

Althoguh on another note just put a 2nd terra on another gun and I can't say that I see anything to complain about at this point... not a conquest I dont' think, but for the price, damn sure better than most others out there. although it may not quite track right on zeroing, but I've not seen a cheaper scope that ever really did...

Neither the Terra nor the Conquest series ever had the Lotutec coating. That is reserved for Zeiss' higher-end optics.

Would $325 be a fair deall

That's pretty chitty of Zeiss to send a Terra to replace a conquest. 2 entirely different scopes and the Terra is not of the same quality as the conquest.. They are also not of the same price point. I'd say you got screwed... However, that doesn't answer your question. Your best bet is to check out Ebay listings. I remember seeing one a while back sell with a buy it now price of $269.00... I'd be doing some price checking there first..

The question is how many guys would opt for for the 42mm objective version instead? 50mm objective is way too big and bulky for my needs. They have a 4-12x42 for $269.00 buy it now with free shipping.

You can list it on ebay, but you are going to have a hell of a time selling it when there's the 4-12x42 for almost $100.00 cheaper.. Just sayin.. The real moral of the story is the Terra is by no means a Conquest. Having owned a 4-12x Terra, I can tell you I won't be buying another one. The eye relief is horrible and the glass is not any where near as good as the conquests I've looked though. I still have and use the 3-9x42 Terra's and like them, but again they are not Conquests.

Not no More you send in a Conquest you get back a Terra if you purchase a used Conquest make sure it works if not you will now get a Terra made in Japan
