Did they have a bad day, or has something changed, or am I asking too much? I called about a JRS (named for John Sundra) The young woman I spoke to was friendly enough, but seemed to be clueless when I asked about that stock. They are no longer listed, but, 10yrs ago they seemed to be very popular. It would seem to me that she would know something about these. All she said was check the website. Does any one know where I might find one for a FN Mauser, or the Boyd one that most closely replaced it? The pictures don't help much. Captdavid

I think that the current Classic style is the same as, or a slightly modified version of, the JRS style. Maybe their paid JRS to use his initials and endorsement for some period of time and once the stock design was established, no longer needed his initials or endorsement to sell them.
I think that JRS Classic became just the Classic and now there are two classic style stock, the Classic and the Platinum.

Boyd's new classic is not the same as the old JRS. It now has a large "grove" that runs along the fore stock even with the barrel, kind of like a Hogue stock. The old ones could be slimmed way down and shaped into a nice stock. You can not get the "grove" out of the new one .and you need to be careful that you do not cut into the cut out in the barrel channel
