This is a stock CLR Has some wear and small amount of pitting around end of barrel does not get into crown. If you run you hand down the barrel you can feel a few spots of pitting but cannot be seen. This is a perfect gun to take and not worry about hurting it or perfect candidate for rebuild. Will send the buyer a extra camp dipped stock if wanted. No rings $550 shipped

The end of barrel is worse than I though gonna need 1/2" cut off and recrowned or if rebarrel it doesn't matter. So reduced $500 shipped

Nice offering. Is it a 24" barrel?

Even if you just replaced the barrel, this seems like a perfect candidate for a 257 Roy build.

Great price on this CLR. I paid more than this for a 270 Win and had Melvin make me 7x57, which has become my personal favorite.

bump this deserves a new home wonder how much Melvin will charge to work his magic on it Mr. Forbes' "magic" has tiered prices, depending on what you want done. If you want a rifle built from a stripped action, it will obviously cost more than if you just replace the stock. Spec out what you think you want and call Mr. Forbes at 304-292-0600 to discuss your rebuild ideas with him. Once you have his input, you'll have a better idea what the total cost will be, including the $450 for the foundation. I don't find the factory stock to be objectionable, but it isn't as light or as stiff as a NULA stock.
