Thanks for the help so far on my .300 WSM! I am shooting a Kimber Super America with a 22" tube that has 1:11 twist rate!I purchased a few of the Berger 175gr VLD Hunting bullets! Is it possible to get them close to the lands and still have enough left for neck tension? I thought I would ask before I muffed up several!

I didn't have any problems with mine. It likes the 175's and the 190's.
They are easy to get to shoot well, especially if you follow Berger's seating depth suggestions.

Good Luck!

A 1-11 will stabilize some very long Bergers, including some over 200 grains.

A lot will depend on the length of the magazine. I dunno about the latest Kimbers, but the magazine of the.300 WSM I had several years ago was too short even for Ballistic Tips to be seated close to the lands. My present Winchester Model 70, however, has a 3.05 inch magazine, which is plenty for just about any bullet.
