Yes, they do. I used to carry a short barrel model 25 loaded with 255 grain cast SWC bowling pin loads in .45 Auto Rim cases, but decided it was too purdy to play in the woods and elevated it to Bar-B-Que gun status.

Also toted a 1909 Colt New Service in .45 Colt with no ill effects. Replaced it eventually with a lighter S&W model 69, though. Nickel holds up pretty well if you care for it.

This thread has me kicking myself in the azz. I had an opportunity to buy a Smith & Wesson model 29 (?) nickel plated 8 3/8" barrel and I passed on it. I've been kicking myself in the azz, ever since then. That was back in the 1980s.

If you reload, there's no such thing as an obsolete cartridge.

No sense on being hard on yourself for a 30 year mistake.

If you front the airfare there are a few of us that would be willing to kick you in the ass just to give you a break.

Doesn't matter who flies, the ass kicking can be done at the airport.

FLITZ was already mentioned, but this stuff isn't abrasive and it will clean the black off the cylinder.

I've never had a nickel revolver waved in front of me at the right time...kinda like them though. My brother's got a nickel 29, 8 3/8", P&R; always thought I'd like a nickel 1911 in .38 Super...
