I'm thinking about buying a Ruger Bearcat SS. Is there any ammo out there with pumped up ballistics that would add some killing power, and penetration, to the CCI Stinger ammo ? I haven't kept up on this stuff. E
I know the Stingers have some serious pop to them, but I've never been impressed with the results. OTOH, when I use Winchester Power Points, the hollow points are so potent I've had them open up and mushroom just like a big game bullet on sage rats. Even had parts go flying when shooting the little critters out to about 50-75 yards. I love those things and they are superbly accurate in several of my .22's.

Ah, Don's favorite poster ! Heck, I thought I was his favorite. Me and "that book". Of course, I only know what I've read.
Yes. I like the Power Points too. They do open unusually well. Would probably do so from a sixgun as well.
I was curious about a new load called the Velocitor by CCI. A 40 gr. jacket HP. About the same price as the Stinger ammo. E
If you get a chance to try some, I'd sure like to know how they work out. Let us know what you think- Sheister

I just went through a bunch of .22 ammo last year when I bought my BearCat. Mine is an older 1970's Super BearCat. Winchester power points shot well but high at the distance I will be hunting rabbits. The Remington Sub Sonics were wonderful. Great accuracy and they hit right on point of aim at 30 yards. I know you are looking for a hot load, can't help you there, none of my hand guns have ever shot well with the fast stuff. CCI stingers, even the mini mags have never grouped for me in a handgun. But I have learned one thing: every hand gun is a law unto it's self. What don't work for mine may be great in yours. At thirty yards those sub sonics do a rabbit in. The Winchesters have never left me wanting more out of my Rugger MK I. I have killed jack rabbits past 50 yards with one hit many, many times.
