Good day to you all. I have decided to cull the herd a bit. This rifle is like new and is to nice to take out and shoot and drag through the woods when I already own two other rifles in this fine caliber. So I have decided to let this one go. This is a Browning M-1885 made by Miroku in 45-70 with a 28" octagon barrel in 45-70 Gov. Semi Gloss wood and a solid black recoil pad, adjustable trigger and Buck Horn sights. I apologize for no picture. I'm still unable to post photos on this thing. The rifle appears to be unfired and looks like new. It has the original box but no owners manual. Not a ding or dent on the wood or metal. Date of manufacture is 1985. I am asking $950. My FFL will take care of Sale, transfer and shipping. If you are interested or have questions the name of my FFL is Patrick Genseal. Please contact him not me. Phone: (660)441-7483 www.skypilotgunsmithing.com Thank you.

Sounds like a beauty.

A picture would probably sell it....

Are you sure it's a 28" barrel?

I believe all the Browning 1885 repros had 28" barrels, the Low Walls had 24".

Most of the 1885 repro's had 24" barrels in 45-70. Some even had 16". They were called Trappers. The BPCR's had 30" barrels.

The shorter barrel repros were sold by Winchester.

Reloader 28- you are mistaken.

Browning made TWO basic 45-70 single shot rifles in the 70s,80's and 90's

The first- the B-78 had a straight gripped stock with a cresent buttplate and a 24" barrel.
They were discontinued in 1983..

The standard 1885 centerfire Browning highwalls ,which came out a few years later had straight gripped stocks with black buttpads and 28" barrels .The 45-70s had iron sights on them. I know- I owned few..As well as 1885 Low walls ,BPRCs etc etc..
