I see its a new offering with a .303 b.c. claim! Looks good to me. Being a flat base, will it stabilize in a 1-14?

Rob.

what sort of difference is there between the two bullets, one with a BC of .303 and the other .290?

OSU Sig,

The 53-grain is longer than the 55, .830" compared to .795", due a longer-tapered ogive.

Thanks JB. I was curious to know what difference there may be in the two offerings of the same weight. the VMAX 53 grain with a BC of .290 and the Nosler with its BC of .303.
Is there a measurable difference in performance with such little difference in BC?

If both bullets actually match their specified BC's, the difference is just Smoke and Mirrors.

Start them both at 3300 fps, 200 yard zero:

.290 BC is -18.96 @ 400yds
.303 BC is -18.52 @ 400yds

The plus side is there are now two slippery 53 grain bullets to choose from.

I know this is old, but I just got my hands on some of these. Any success stories? Just played a little with them so far in my 22-250 in a RAP, and they show promise.

Thanks!

I loaded up another 50 of them last night in 22-250. They are crow and armadillo killing son of a guns. I haven't been able to get on a coyote with them yet so don't know how fur-friendly they would be. I am using 39.5 gr of H380 and a Fed 210M primer.

I bought like 2500 of them thru Nosler's Pro Shop, as factory seconds...
at the time, with a military discount, got them for under 10 bucks a box per hundred... like $8.50

They work as well on game and are as accurate as the 53 V Max....

run them thru a 223, 22.250s and a fast twist 22.250..

They do real well in my opinion...

I've been using them in my .220 and seeing some very promising results. Numerous five-shot groups in the 1/2-inch neighborhood, but somewhat inconsistent. I think the inconsistency is likely due to the rifle, me, or the scope. Working on that now...trying a different scope.

Going to try some of these against the 53 grain V Max in a 223.

Will be for coyotes, cats, crows and other vermin.
