While I have other pistols, more often than not there's a .45 ACP LW Commander on my hip. I just find the LW Commander to be ideal for daily concealed carry. Now truth be told, I really wish my LW Commander was a .38 Super...maybe someday. I almost lost this gun to my daughter, but she decided to stay living at home while going to college.

...one day your wishes will come true.... Mine is a 1952 Commander in .38 Super. BarSto barrel, MMC Tactical Adjustable night sights and all hard chrome by Accurate... Gun was built by Jody Joseph at JoJo's in Connecticut. OWB holster is a DeSantis Speed Scabbard strong side OWB with an extra magazine in a DeSantis double mag pouch or a single Safariland clip on. IWB is a RAMORA carried support side butt forward usually with no extra mag. Ammo is a mix of CorBon PowR'Ball [1530 fps] and Underwood Xtreme Defender [1560 fps]... Bob

I carry a Colt Model 90 Defender 1911 in the winter. The only mod is an ambi safety. Otherwise factory set up, in an old Gould and Goodrich holster.

I still carry a 1911 often. It's usually a Custom Colt Commander or My Les Baer Custom Carry in Milt Sparks leather. If it's not a 1911 then it's a Glock 19 or S&W J-frame.

Sometimes I carry my Para Ordnance Executive Carry. It has a 3" barrel, but a full size grip; 8+1 capacity (.45 ACP). The trigger is what a trigger should feel like. I try to not shoot it too much...No striker fired pistol could even come close to the trigger on my Para...or any other 1911 that has had the trigger tuned to be what it can be - excellent.

We all knew Bob would be chiming in with one of his magnificent Super .38 Automatics; and of course Bob doesn't disappoint...that's my favorite of your Supers; I'll never tire of looking at that photo. For those who don't know, Bob has another one just like that. One is a 1951 and the other a 1952. Both are setup pretty much as mirror images. Both wear MMC sights, but one is adjustable and the other one has fixed MMC's. Classic lines of a classic pistol, yet they both have exactly what they need, and nothing they don't. Yes Bob, your pair of Supers has a stalker...I need to confess

Confession...I have never liked the two tone look when the slide is the lighter coler....HOWEVER, that is the one gun that is the exception to that rule. S&W took their LW Commander which was a winner to begin with, and turned it into a supermodel!!! Such a good looking pistol you have there huntsman!!! It goes without saying, your S&W M1911PD looks WAAAY better than mine!!

The new LW Commanders are looking better than they have in decades. Frame & Slide are manufactured flawlessly, and THANK GOD Colt has returned to the small font roll stamping like they did before WW II. I would prefer the classic slide serrations, but I can live with the one's that are there. I think Colt figured out that people don't buy their guns because of some billboard roll stamp on the side of their guns.

Number one---Colt 21st Century Commander (Wiley Clapp) mostly all seasons.
or
S&W 1911 DK .38 Super . Mostly in winter when everybody is wearing heavy clothing.
or
Colt Delta Elite 10 on the Farm. Never without it.
or
Wilson Combat Hunter in .460 Rowland or Colt Gold Cup Trophy in .460 Rowland during whitetail/hog hunting season.
Have a Colt Special Combat Full Chrome coming soon. .38 Super for barbecues. Have a Wilson Shark OWB holster waiting for it. Just to shut up some bragging friends. They shoot tight also.
That leaves 31 more ( some collectables) just to play with.
Thinking about getting a Colt PocketLite for open carry if I ever decide to go to Walmart wearing Speedos.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

RIA govt model w/Wilson NiteEyes sights in a Del Fatti SLP...
The holster and sights cost more than the pistol but it is a righteous shooting rig...

The 1956 has BoMar adjustable rear with a tritium dot front... 1952... 1951... 1956... The SUPER LITE posted above is one of the ones I have been hoping to come across.... I shot huntsman's S&W...a great shooter... ...and you may want to buy your dream Colt before they go under for good... I have one of these and it was about perfect a carry Super out of the box that Colt ever made... http://www.gunbroker.com/item/622705646Bob

My 1911 is a Kimber Ultra Carry II, .45. I carry it IWB, in a N82 Tactical holster, Pro model. Most comfortable CCW setup I have ever tried, and see no need for OWB setup at all.
I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....

I occasionally tote a Kimber Crimson Carry II in a Kirkpatrick TSS. I enjoy the 1911 for what it is but it's not my normal carry. The TSS holster is great.
