Kimber 84 Hunter owners the good and the bad?
Looking for actual experience with the new Kimber 84 Hunter, a 84L Hunter in 270 has caught my eye and I am ready to pull the trigger on it.
I started out to look at a Sako A7 or Sako 85 black but the Kimber is much lighter and at a better price point.

I bought a previously owned but never shot Hunter in 7-08 which included mounts and a used silver 3.5-10 VXIII. I push a couple patches of Hoppes thru it. Mounted the Leupy. Bore sited. First shot at 50yds was 1" left. Adjusted scope. Next two shots with a 120BT and 44.5grs of R15 at 100yds went into one hole, third shot was about 3/4" low. Cooled barrel. Next two shots with a 140BT and 42grs of R15 went into one hole and third shot about 1" low.
Good enough for me.... for now anyway....

Thanks for the input, did anyone weight their Hunter? I found different weights depending on the web page anywhere from 5lb 10oz up to 6lb 6oz a difference of 3/4 lb?

The heaviest Hunter is 5lb 13oz and that's the 84L .270 Win model.
From Kimber's 2017 catalog:
84M .243 Win > 5lb 10oz .257 Rob > 5lb 10oz 6.5 CM > 5lb 9oz 7mm-08 Rem > 5lb 7oz .308 Win > 5lb 7oz
84L .270 Win > 5lb 13oz .280 AI > 5lb 12oz .30-06 Sprg > 5lb 11oz

I had a Kimber Hunter in 7mm-08. I would buy another, though I prefer a blind magazine for my purposes. Here is a review I wrote about it. Kimber Hunter 84M review

IIRC my 7-08 Hunter is right at 5lbs 7oz bare. Just about exactly 6 oz heavier than same caliber MT.
