The day after the 264 became available, some unknown gunsmith necked it up to 7mm and chambered a rifle for it but he didn't get it to Remington. GD

If we really want to run minutiae around the block, the 7mm Remington Magnum was developed by necking .338 brass down, not .264's up. Same case dimensions but.... :-)

So about 40 minutes after brass was invented they came up with 3006. The next day someone said they should put a belt on that bitch and make it 7mm lol You are overlooking the .264 Win. mag. in this scenario. miles Right Remington just necked up the 264, about two years after the 264 came out!!!
