The above link is for a hunting show caught poaching a bull, because a viewer noticed the terrain and trees did not match the area supposedly being hunted. I wish hunting shows were more about ethics and true hunting stories then about advertising and getting the one. While some shows try to catch the spirit of the hunt, most leave out a lot of details. Like the above story. There are lots of places one could go and kill a decent to large bull with little challenge, because there is no legal way to do so. I believe that 15 years lost hunting rights in 43 states should about be the end of this show.

Got what they deserved.

Not a good idea to screw around poaching and so forth in Wyoming, most judges are hunters or at least advocates for the outdoors and have no sense of humor whatsoever for such shenanigans.

"Meat Eater" is excellent about showing hunting accurately. They even fail to get something some days! I know, right?! Who does that?

Mostly I wish no one would watch so they'd all go away...

One years ago was honest, fishing one time for a weekend and never caught a single fish... but it didnt' make a year IIRC.

I won't and haven't watched for years.

There'd still be television.

Yep I think Meateater is a good show. I enjoy the butchering and preparing/cooking he does also.

I hate that the other shows are nothing but a sales ad for a bunch of junk. I also disagree with the [bleep] shots they take and Show! They don't promote responsible hunting and shooting. "THEY" covers the vast majority of the hunting shows. Meateater is the only exception I've found.

There are very few shows out there worth watching. Most are infomercials and hunting corn fed game on big money game ranches with every animal "named" and every skinny eight point is an awesome "fabulous trophy". One I saw a few years ago showed a long range shot on a mule deer and the buck that was "recovered" the next day was nothing like the one that was originally shot. Do like Meat Eater, especially the episode where the game was jack rabbit stew. Really brought home the idea that any "game" can be enjoyed. That's the spirit of hunting.

About the original post - noticed that Mills whined to the judge that he would not be able to to "hunt" with his children but pleaded no contest instead of guilty. No contrition there only thing he is sorry about is that he got caught and will no longer have a TV show. No lesson learned.

That reminds me; Years ago, I was watching some hunting show. What caught my attention was that a bunch of Yankees were hunting a ranch right down the road from me.

One of them saw a bunch of filthy Javelinas and got all excited. The ranch hand told him to shoot the little ones.

What did he do? Shot the biggest one.

The ranch hand paused for a minute and said, "We'll send someone to pick it up".

I wouldn't want to touch it either.

Hunting shows are 30 minute commercials for whatever wonder hunting product of the day happens to be.

Yeah I feel bad for him.LOL I guess he is sorry for getting caught. Poaching is bad enough ,but he will probably lose his job as well. I think he got the right penalty. I am also thankful someone noticed the terrain and trees in the show and reported it. Many people can not know these facts by watching tv.

Randy Newberg and Western Hunter (as opposed to Western Extreme) and Eastmans Hunting are good shows.

W Hunter often has great high mountain scenery.

Relentless Pursuit with Tim Wells, archer extraordinaire, and Jim Shockey often have some great shows mixed with some duds.
