Anyone tried R26 with the 75 or 80's in a 22-250?

I only use 1-14's but the 60 gr. Nosler Part, WW64 gr. 55 Horn. 55gr. Sierra HPBT, and 50 grain Blitzking have killed a pile of game for me.. But I pick my shots pretty carefully.. BUT these have been better killers for me than the 6mm's..

I have never shot a deer with one of my 22-250s, but I have shot a bunch of woodchucks with a 1 in 14" twist 22-250 and 63 grain Sierra semi-spitzers at about 3,500 fps. The 'chucks looked like I shot them with my 25-06. I was certain that bullet would kill a deer no problem. The rifle I had at that time (30+ years ago) had a long throat and wouldn't shoot shorter bullets worth beans, but it shot those Sierras just fine.

But I pick my shots pretty carefully When I first started using my 22-250 for big game I did the same. After dozens of animals, I do not worry about it. Have never recovered a 53gr TSX. Did find two petals once, but the bullet did hit back/neck vertebrae.

I'm getting fantastic accuracy and velocity with the 65 SGK and IMR4064 in my 9 twist 22-250.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.

1:8 uh? Well I like the 53gr. TSX BUT I have a 1:12. If I owned a 1:8 I would be shooting the 62 TTSX. YMMV
60gr Partition is another choice 70gr GMX 70gr Barnes TSX 77gr Secnar

This thing was 403 forbidden for a while but I'm glad Rick got off his ass and corrected it.
62gr TTSX
53gr. TSX
55gr. TTSX
60gr. Hornady SP
Lots of options.
Travis This one.... 60gr. Hornady SPold School and simple 63 SP is second choice..

60g Partition. Dont even need a fast twist. The Tikka and LVSF both shoot them acceptably.

This happened on Friday. It's not a deer, but the rifle was a .22-250AI with a 62gr TSX. That's gotta be close enough, right? It was a 350yd shot, slight quartering towards me. The bullet entered right on the shoulder, jellied both lungs, and exited just behind the far shoulder. The caribou dropped immediately. Edited to add: I'm running RL-15 powder. It has given me great accuracy with the highest velocities. H4350 was accurate, as well, but suffers in the velocity dept.

Otter6 - worked up some loads using the 60gr Nosler partitions a few years back for an older Ruger 'tanger' M77...not a world beater but OK. Then the Nosler's were no longer available for some reason. Dropped further development. Homesteader
