The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

That's a beautiful snake!

I have lived in the Hill Country since 2009 and have never seen a snake on my rural property. A handful of months ago my wife mowed a Coral snake on the front yard then saw another larger one, maybe a month ago, whilst walking the dog.

That'll make you think twice about frolicking in the flowers.

Any more or less venomous?

So is a [bleep] grease spot on the road.

A few years back some radio clowns in Kansas City put a fake snake out on the road. People ran over it. They'd stop and run over it multiple times. Some would spin out on it. They finally had to stop when some country boy got out of his truck with his gun and was gonna shoot it.

We had a fellow from work that killed a deadly snake on his property and brought it work,
he then threw the thing onto the middle of the meal room table between the lads head down playing cards at morning break.
im not sure if fast is enough word to describe their movements.
