Not exactly a hunting rifle, per se... I used to take my Mosin snowshoeing. We'd stop at the turnaround point, I'd throw it in a pile of snow. We'd make some coffee and get some protein bars wolfed down. I'd grab the rifle out of the snowbank, kick the now frozen action open and make sure the barrel was clear, then shoot the crap out of it until it was hot enough to warm our hands. Good times.
It's about like this:
"Do you puff peters?"
"Hell no!"
"NAZI!!!"

When I was a kid I read about the mountain men, scouts, trappers, Davy Crockett, Dan'l Boone, and later Zane Grey's border trilogy. Back then I was too poor to pay attention and had hand-me-down. As an adult I never got into percussion or flint-lock pieces. Here lately, the thought of playing with such has been beginning to grow on me. That is a fine looking piece!! Details? GWB

I just finished it! Well I still have to brown the lock. But it's my rendition of a German Jäger rifle. Albeit a smaller calibre than most at .40. I find the .40 RB at 95 grains ample most of the time for my needs. Thanks again! Edit! If I need anything bigger I have this Jäger too! It's a .62 calibre!

I like your Steyr geedubya! What's it chambered for?
