Headed to Napa for a hunt this weekend. Landowner has been seeing birds daily so should be a good time. Hopefully pictures will follow. Either way it's upper 30's and dumping rain at home right now so sunny and 70's sounds good to me.

Deal with it.

Enjoy and good luck.

AKB,
How'd you make out? I hunt in the next valley over to the west. I didn't see or hear anything opening weekend. However, the creek running through the property I get to hunt was a raging torrent and I couldn't hear much of anything but the water.
Hope you enjoyed your visit to our area and it was productive.

Lou,

I was actually up above Fairfield on some private land so Suisun Valley instead of Napa. I had some struggle with the creeks as well, very noisy. Only a quick 2 days hunt, it got hot both days so that slowed the birds down a bit. Had good encounters both days. Had 3 jakes come in on Saturday, but they hung up at about 60 yds, I think they were worried about running into a big tom. Sunday I had a nice tom come in slow and quiet but committed. He crossed 2 fence lines and a pretty big creek to get to me. Got him in to about 40 feet and had a weapons mishap. Had a few hens nesting up in the brush on the property so there are birds in the area. Had a trail cam set up and got some pigs, deer, and turkeys regularly. Despite the heat, we had birds come in at noon on Saturday and 3:00 on Sunday. Are you in Sonoma?

Deal with it.
