Name those that were gifts and those that you acquired yourself.
My favorite possession I acquired myself is my boat. I would sell my truck before my boat.
My favorite possession that was a gift is a case sodbuster jr that I found in the woods that ended up being my uncles knife that he would take back. I lost it and last year a friend returned it to me when he found it in the couch I gave him a couple of years earlier. That particular uncle took me fishing the first time in a boat, also put me on a ground hog that was my first kill ever and I did it with a 30# bear bow. I could barely pull 30 pounds. I don't really have any guns that I'm attached to except a 10/22 my mom bought me after I was grown and on my own.
Eating fried chicken and watermelon since 1972.

West German Weatherby Mk V from my great uncle which he took to Africa.
Hamilton Emerson limited edition re-release (circa 1986) that belonged to my grandfather.
Little "bird house" decorative light my other grandfather made shortly before he passed.
Just stuff that can't be replaced, regardless of monetary value.
It's about like this:
"Do you puff peters?"
"Hell no!"
"NAZI!!!"

Mine is some old baby blankets and clothes. My grand-parents had 4 girls and 1 son. The son died when he was about 2. Growing up my grandparents almost never mentioned him. Mawmaw had a cedar chest that was full of his toys and things she'd saved but I never saw her open it. Always figured it was just too painful for them to talk about.
one of the few times I can remember either one of them spanking me as a kid is once I got into the chest and pulled out some of his toys and she caught me playing with them.
When my first son was born, my grandmother gave me the clothes and blankets that were in the cedar chest. Cant' even begin to think of how many memories that must have dredged up for her

A couple of Marbles Knives made in Gladstone, MI.
My wallet and a few other items mostly personal or outdoor related that I've had for years.

My dad's .300 Weatherby he bought while stationed in West Germany in the middle late 50's. Two Smith and Wesson revolvers from that same period.
His handmade Victor Ario saddle he got when he graduated from Montana State in 1954 from his mom and dad. He passed last May.
Several afghans made by my grandmother. She's been gone 15 years.
Two pair of cowboy boots from the 60's that my grandfathers wore. Both ranched. They've been gone 20 years.
Nice to have physical remembrances from all of them.

Before the dog died, I probably would've just listed the dog.

My great uncles Barlow knife. He died in 1968, at 88 years. I have no idea how old this knife is, large blade is worn down to about an inch, small blade is smaller. I cherish it!

My old Daddy's Remington 1100 12 gauge. I tromped many a field while dove, quail, or squirrel hunting with him while he carried it. I don't do that kind of hunting any more, so turned it into a slug gun last year, although I have all the original parts to restore it back any time I want. Other than my family, it's the one possession I have that I would unhesitatingly shoot someone over if they were stupid enough to try and steal it.

One of them is a Remington 788 in 30-30 that my grandpa bought me when I was 10 or 11. We bought it from Diamond Jims Gunshop in the middle of the Arizona desert outside of Apache Junction. I've killed a lot of critters and a lot of prickly pear cactus blooms when I was young.

My wife and dogs. A few trinkets pretty trivial to anyone else, but have their place in my heart. When I was young, I put more value on things to play with... guns, fishing tackle, trucks, etc. Now I place more value on things I can work with, like my tractors and other work related stuff. (Ironic now that I'm kinda retired... )
